Frequently Asked Questions

Before attempting to ask me any questions, please read the following to make sure that your question hasn't already been answered here. If you ask me anything that's already included in the FAQ, it will be ignored. However, if it isn't on here yet, feel free to message me at charis.haze@gmail.com. Thank you.

What Sims is this?
Vanity High is created using The Sims 2. I always buy the new expansion packs. As of now, I have Nightlife, University, Open For Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage, and Free Time. For stuff packs, I only have Holiday and Glamour Life. I also use a lot of custom content to build my sets and my Sims.

What Video-editing Program do you use?
I use Adobe Premiere Elements 3.0 to edit my videos, as well as Windows Movie Maker.

How do you make a movie?
Please don't ask me this question. There are already a lot of sites out there with movie-making tutorials. If you want to learn how to make movies with The Sims too, I highly recommend you check out these websites for more information:
Britannica Dreams Movie Tutorial
Sims 99 Wiki
There are still more sites out there that provide you with free information about Sims 2 Machinima. All it takes is a simple Google search. Also please check out my movie FAQ.

Where did you get the hair/clothes, etc?
Please check out my links section to see the sites where I usually download my custom content from.

When is the next episode coming out?
I don't set release dates for my series. It comes out when it comes out. I make Vanity High on my own free time. God, my family, and friends take priority over Sims 2 movie-making. I am also a full-time mom, so it isn't exactly easy for me to find time for my hobbies.

Can I help you with Vanity High by providing voices?
If you are interested in providing voices for Vanity High, I'm currently not looking for voice actors at the moment. But I will definitely need more actors later on. When the time comes, I'll be holding auditions here and over at the Voice Acting Alliance. Thanks for your interest!

Story-Related Questions (May Contain Spoilers)

Who is older? Yuki or Iori?
Obviously, it would have to be Yuki. He assumes the role of an older brother ever since their father passed away (as we find out in Episode 9). Iori used to be daddy's little girl, so her father's death had been very difficult for her. Yuki, being the responsible boy that he is, made sure that his twin Iori was well-taken care of. However, this turned Iori into a spoiled brat as we know in Episode 1. Their cousin Mameha knows this so this is why she gets really annoyed at Yuki for always giving in to Iori's demands.

How come Lynne seems to be so afraid of Iori?
It is not that she is really afraid of Iori. Lynne is the type of person who cares about what people think. She wants people to like her, even if it means making her unhappy. That's why she isn't really fighting to get Yuki back,. She knows that Yuki and herself don't want Iori to be upset. Yuki and Lynne are similar that way. Also Iori and Lynne used to be good friends before Lynne and Yuki started dating since they all grew up together (as we learn in Episode 16).

How come Mameha is older than the rest of them?
Mameha is 17 years old, a year older than most of them (except for Marie, who is 2 years younger than Mameha). The reason why she is older and is in the same grade is because Mameha had to repeat a grade. Her and her mom moved around a lot and she had been to so many different schools (as we find out in Episode 3). Because of this, Mameha had a hard time catching up to her school work, but it doesn't mean that she is dumb! =P

In Episode 10, you made a mistake! Mameha and Ben already met in Episode 5, so why did they have to get reintroduced?
I didn't make a mistake. Mameha and Ben were just joking around. Mameha was supposed to say "Nice to meet you too, Ben," in a sarcastic tone. I guess it would've worked better with voices, but back then we only used subtitles.

What kind of name is Mameha?
Japanese. Their family is Japanese after all. I named her after the Mameha from the novel "Memoirs of a Geisha."
